A Renoir from the General Investment Group LLC Collection Exhibited at The Morgan Library & Museum

The The Morgan Library & Museum in New York is internationally recognized as one of the world’s most distinguished institutions dedicated to rare manuscripts, drawings, and works on paper. Founded from the private library of financier and collector J. P. Morgan, the museum has become a leading center for scholarship and exhibitions devoted to the history of art, literature, and culture.

In 2025–2026 the Morgan organized the exhibition “Renoir Drawings,” an important presentation exploring the graphic work and creative process of the renowned French Impressionist Pierre-Auguste Renoir. The exhibition brought together significant works on paper from major international museums and private collections, providing visitors with a rare opportunity to examine Renoir’s artistic development through his drawings and watercolors.

As part of this scholarly exhibition, the Morgan Library & Museum formally requested the loan of the watercolor “Woman with a Cow,” 1885, from the art collection of General Investment Group LLC. The work is an important example of Renoir’s exploration of rural subjects and demonstrates the artist’s fluid handling of watercolor and line during the mid-1880s.

The exhibition proved to be a major success. In a letter addressed to Mr. Rami Ron of General Investment Group LLC, Colin B. Bailey reported that the exhibition attracted approximately 123,000 visitors during its sixteen-week run. The show received significant critical attention, with the The Wall Street Journal describing it as an “enlightening” exhibition of Renoir’s “frequently stunning” works on paper. Similarly, The New Yorker noted that the exhibition allowed visitors the “privilege to become more intimate with his experiments in perception and the evocative beauty of things being left unfinished.” Ron-Rami Renoir Thank You Letter

According to the museum, the success of the exhibition depended greatly on the generosity of lenders. The Morgan specifically noted that the watercolor “Woman with a Cow” played a meaningful role within the exhibition, enabling visitors to better understand Renoir’s creative process and broader body of work.

Following its presentation in New York, the exhibition continues its international journey to the Musée d'Orsay in Paris, further extending the scholarly impact of the project.

The inclusion of Woman with a Cow in this major museum exhibition highlights the significance of the General Investment Group LLC art collection, which continues to preserve and share important works of art with leading cultural institutions around the world. Collaborations such as this contribute to advancing public knowledge and appreciation of great artists like Pierre-Auguste Renoir, while reinforcing the role that private collections can play in supporting museum scholarship and public exhibitions.
